Oh the suq, being able to be there [with cameras] again was great. Sometime before closing, around noon, lunchtime, in the high heat of the sun, with many of the stalls shut down and just a few people sitting around enjoying the emptiness of the streets, I walked around with the red-scale film packed into the Canon FTb. I was attempting to re-visit where I was before, to pick up the nuances of colour. Not sure I got it, but do feel the heat...

vintage Bahrain
Previously I had put a post down about the anachronisms in black and white negative photography. The bunch of pictures here, are of places that actually are old: a 4000 year old fort, a 400 year old tree, and my family's 80 year old house. I wonder if any of these images have that same vintage feel to them...
