Humanette

The Humanette is a cartoon strip that I created to addresses a few "cultural" ideas.  Among them are: trans and post national debates; questions of cultural identity; the notion of transnational spaces in urban settings; ideas on globalization; and the commodification of culture. 
Looking at the world through the rather simple lens of 'East meets West', Humanette ponders everyday existences and refers to comparative layers of world history and popular urban and cultural iconography.
All the photos used in the Humanette series were collected over years of traveling and shooting.  

I hope to develop these into something more at some point...
